• Are there any prevailing crime trends in your area?
• Are there any paths, railway lines or other access routes, which could be used by criminals to gain access to your premises?
• Do you know who runs the local business crime partnership, shop watch, business watch scheme or similar in your area?

Then ask yourself about your business specifically:

• What could thieves target in my business - stock, petty cash, computers, equipment, and vehicles?
• How vulnerable are my business premises to crime?
• What would be the effect of a crime against my business?
• What crime prevention initiatives are available to me?

Below are a list of simple security questions to help you identify the weak spots in your business. if you answer ‘NO’ to any of these questions, YOU will benefit from our FREE OF CHARGE Commercial security audit.

1. Do you know exactly who has or has had keys to your business and how many copies there are out there? (remember to think about previous occupants, ex employees, cleaners, etc)
2. Did you change the locks on your premises when you moved in?
3. Are you certain that your business security meets the ‘minimum insurance requirements’ and that your insurance will pay out in the event of a claim?
4. Do you have a safe with an apropriate insurance rating?
5. Are all your locks in good working order?
6. Are your keys restricted, i.e. is official authorisation required by a locksmith before keys may be copied?
7. Are visitors to your premises restricted in their movement around the building by effective security, once inside?
8. Are you certain beyond doubt that the ‘duty of care’ to your staff is satified by effective security within your business?
